Hello again and welcome to my little corner of the webisphere! One of the things that I love most about myself is how transparent I am. Sometimes it is to a fault! I am sure that you have gotten a general sense of me through my posts. I have a cute kid, I live in super hot Arizona, and I alsolutely love makeup. While those are very important aspects of me, there is so much more to know! I found this little tag on the googler and I thought it would be fun to participate.
I’m a military brat!
My dad did a major service to our country by dedicating 22 years of his life to the army. He was stationed in many super cool places including Egypt, Korea, and Germany! I got to travel with him around the US when I was born, but I never went abroad (womp womp). He retired in 1996 and got our family settled in Virginia.
I love thrifting!
I absolutely hate paying full price for anything! I dislike it so much that I made it my New Years Resolution to not do it! Thanks to stores like The Goodwill and Savers I am able to get the exact item that I want for a fraction of the cost. One time I lucked up and found a gently used Gucci purse at a Goodwill store!
Another great things about thrifting? It’s super easy to find unique clothing items that you can customize to your liking! They always have awesome blazers and basics that can be tailored to look amazing on anyone!
I am a makeup artist.
I have been obsessed with makeup for as long as I can remember! It was not until Freshman year of college that I actually considered making it my own business. I have been fortunate to work for some amazing companies including MAC and Sephora. I currently have my very own freelance makeup business that services Phoenix, Arizona and surrounding areas. I have absolutely no sense of direction.
Like, none. It is honestly a little concerning. If it was not for my GPS there is a strong chance that I would never leave the house.
The beach is my favorite place to be.
I was extremely fortunate to live very close to a beach for the majority of my life. Whenever I got a free day I would go pitch my umbrella and just sit in the sand. I absolutely love watching ships sail by and dolphins peek their fins out of the water. Living in Arizona has been quite the adjustment as there is no beach, but I do make it a point to head out to California at least twice a year to get my fix of the water.
I have terrible asthma.
I am no stranger to the emergency room. Unfortunately my lungs are not as strong as most people’s and because of this I am very susceptible to asthma attacks. I have had pneumonia and bronchitis countless times. My worst bout with asthma occurred when my lung totally collapsed and I ended up spending several days in the hospital. I have been on steroids ever since. Asthma definitely has made my life tougher but I refuse to let it keep me down.
I am a new yogi.
Yoga has been a God send for me. In 2016 I was involved in a horrible car accident that left me with chronic neck and back pain. My mobility slowly but surely decreased to the point where my chiropractor called me “a brick.” I had to find some sort of gentle exercise that would help me regain my flexibility without causing any further damage. I got everything that I needed with yoga plus so much more. Since starting yoga my stress levels have decreased and my overall spiritual wellbeing has increased.
I developed an unhealthy addiction with beanie hats after deciding to go natural in 2009. I absolutely loathe paying full price for things (see fact #2) so I decided to learn how to make them myself. I do not crochet on a large scale, but I do enjoy making hats, scarves, and other small goods for my family. Believe it or not, crocheting is an amazing stress reliever. I hope to one day learn how to knit.
I am older than I look.
I must take a moment to thank my mother for my amazing genes. It is not uncommon for people to think I am 22 years old. Truth be told, I will be 30 in less than six months. Hopefully I will continue to look like I am in my twenties until I reach my forties!
I am a super picky eater.
That is probably an understatement. Some of the foods I do not eat include pickles, mayonnaise, tomatoes, onions, peppers, cantaloupe, and anything spicy. I try to broaden my palette from time to time but I just can not break out of my pickiness. I will just stick to the handful of foods that I do actually enjoy.
Thank you for taking a few moments to learn more about me! So what else do ya wanna know? Drop me some questions in the comments!
