I will be the first to admit that my logic when it comes to skincare is ass backwards. I am the girl who will spend $50 on a eyeshadow palette but cringes at the thought of spending $15 on a skincare product. It makes no sense! It wasn’t until my skin condition worsened that I realized that I had to do better. I wanted to find a good quality skincare line that wouldn’t break my bank. I searched at Sephora, Ulta, Target.. hell, I even tried Walmart! I couldn’t find a good skincare system anywhere! Until…Beautylish! I had shopped on their site a long time ago, but the app had been stagnant on my phone for months. I decided to check out what they had to offer. I ran across a brand by the name of “The Ordinary.” The name and visuals immediately peaked my interest. Everything was so clean and minimal! Something this modern had to be expensive, I thought. I was overjoyed when I saw that none of their products exceeded $20! My frugal prayers had been answered!
The Ordinary has tons of products in their line. They cater to people with sensitive skin, mature skin, hyperpigmentated skin.. whatever your condition is they have a remedy for it. Personally, I was looking for something moisturizing and that would lighten my dark spots. The prices were so reasonable that I was able to concoct both a morning and a nighttime routine for under $100!
My morning routine consists of:
The Ordinary. “Buffet.”
Why I love it: This serum packs a mighty punch. It has all sorts of good shit in it that aids in skin cell turnover which will, in turn, fade dark spots! The solution also hydrates skin which is exactly what I need in this Arizona heat!
The Ordinary. High-Adherence Silicone Primer (if I’m wearing makeup).
My nighttime routine consists of:
The Ordinary. AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution
The Ordinary. Gycolic Acid Toning Solution
The Ordinary. 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil
The Ordinary. Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG
Total cost of these products? $52.10!
If I can manage to spend that without feeling nauseous, anyone can. This amazing company has even moved on to making foundations! I have not been able to get my hands on my particular shade yet, but I will certainly give my two cents as soon as I do! Have you tried any of these products? What were your thoughts? Let me know in the comments!
